TRA2008 Support Action, financed from the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, is addressing two objectives related to dissemination of results of European road transport research and support for the TRA2008 conference in Ljubljana in April 2008:
The first one is to enhance integration of the New Member States, Candidate and the European Neighbourhood Policy Countries into the European road transport Research Area. This Support Action is providing tools to support participation of 100 delegates from these countries to actively contribute to TRA2008 and become more involved in European research projects and the application of their results.
The second objective is to directly support TRA through activities that raise awareness of the event and to reinforce its profile as a major European and internationally important conference. This is in accordance with the TRA mission, which is not to be another conference but rather to become the major joining event for all road transport stakeholders. Several awareness raising missions will be done in order to explain the opportunities and benefits for different stakeholders including public authorities, industry and researchers.

There are still 20 C type grants available for those participants from New Member States, Candidate Countries, Western Balkan Countries and European Neighborhood Policy Countries who wish to attend the TRA 2008 (see the results until February 22, 2008). Therefore, the competitions has been extended until March 10, 2008, noon (Central European Time). |
